Hey lovelies,
It’s been a very busy weekend, but definitely a fun one! ^_^
Yesterday, after spending a full day learning about vlogging with Wayne (from New Adventure of Old Student), we decided to unwind away from the camera by catching the latest show at the Masque Theatre: Beth Henley’s Crimes of the Heart.
It’s a soul-stirring comedy drama that follows the lives of the three Magrath sisters through the highs and lows of life.
Each sister has their fair share of heartache and happiness which makes it easy to fall in love with the characters – from the dedicated but lonely Lenny, to the wild child Meg and the lovely but fragile Babe.
It was incredible being drawn in and watching how they each found the courage to face their past, as they began to grow and change for the better, with the usual doses of sibling rivalry and annoyances thrown in for some believable comedy relief.
The costumes, set, music, and overall feel of Crimes of the Heart was absolutely phenomenal – and I have to say that first-time director Jenny Brandt did a fantastic job of ensuring that everything felt real and raw from the get-go.
If you haven’t seen it yet, I’d highly recommend you pop on over to the Masque Theatre website and book tickets – it’s going into it’s final run next week – and trust me, you won’t be disappointed!! The show run dates are: Thursday 26th Feb at 20:00, Friday 27th of Feb at 20:00, and Saturday 28th Feb at 14:30 and 18:30. ^_^
While you’re at it, I’ve recently done a few blog tweeks, so you can now Follow my blog with Bloglovin too! ^_^
I’d love to know what theatre shows (in Cape Town and elsewhere) you’ve caught recently!
That was awesome, thanks Rose.
